Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I most certainly did not get car sick the morning of my sister's wedding on the way to the salon. I definitely didn't have to bolt from the chair to the bathroom before she finished my hair. Nope, not me. That, of course, didn't lead to me having to dart out of the ceremony into the church kitchen and then darting back in to walk back down the aisle. If I had, I would have been incredibly thankful for the conveniently located doors that made my bail out inconspicuous to most of the guests.

I also haven't been forcing my 3 year old to run around bottomless in attempts to potty train him. That most certainly didn't lead to a large poop on my dining room floor tonight. Nope, not here.

I also didn't go buy 3 bottles of wine to make sangria and then decide to have a glass when then motrin I gave my infant appeared to have no effect on his crying. I would never do such a thing.

I also didn't leave said infant crying in the living room so I could get my dairy computer work done for tomorrow. Nope, not me. My kids always come first.

I also didn't show my three year old how to use his new water syringe by unloading it on an unsuspecting cat because I didn't want to get wet. If I had, I would have chose an annoying barn cat, though.

Lastly, I, of course, washed out my infant's hair after he peed on himself this morning instead of wiping it on his jammies. I also didn't not give him a bath tonight because I was tired and figured we weren't going anywhere tomorrow anyway.

Thanks Dad!

I went to the doctor today. I've been having more frequent migraines and decided it was time I did something about it. Do you know how they prevent migraines? They put you on blood pressure meds. No problem right? Well, thanks to my wonderful genetics, I have low blood pressure. So if I appear dizzy, you'll know why. Looking forward to it! I guess we'll figure out the worse of 2 evils, migraines or dizziness!

Spoiled Much?!?

I think my kids need some cousins on Pat's side of the family...

June Road Trip #2

I packed up the boys on Tuesday and took off for Nebraska. We stopped to pick up another friend, K~, and her little boy, D~, who is 3 1/2. It was a good trip. It was fun to get together with old college friends and just hang out with our kids. My friend, Jessica, and her husband recently had a baby boy, hence the reason for the trip. Cole and D~ played together pretty well, at least I thought so. Cole doesn't seem to really play with anybody his age, so the fact that they were fighting with light sabers was fun for me to watch. Cole was actually the bossy kid, which was hard for me. Usually when he's involved in a dispute you can pretty well bet it's the other kid. Not this time. He'd walk up to D~ with a toy and start saying "No! It's mine!" D~ would look at him like he was nuts and I had to remember to tell him he was being mean. Very odd for me. I think they had fun together though. Cole even gained some interest in potty training, since D~ is potty trained.

Wednesday we headed into Omaha and took the kids to the Amazing Pizza Machine, which is kind of like a cleaner version of Chuck E Cheese. The boys had a good time. They got to ride a train and play games. I'd post pictures, but I forgot my camera at home. Lovely, I know. After that we stopped by another college friend's to see her newborn little boy. The kids were cranky, so it wasn't a long visit, but it was still good to see them. One thing I learned is that I don't want another newborn. Maybe it's because I still have a baby that needs to be carried everywhere, but I am so over that stage. We are still undecided on baby #3. Some days I am all for it, others not so much. At any rate, we'll wait another year to make that decision. If anything, I want more like 3 years between kids, rather than 2.

Thursday we packed back up and headed home. I'm ready to be done travelling for a while, but we'll pack up again on Friday and head to WI for my sister's wedding. This time Pat is coming along so that will be nice. I'm really looking forward to the wedding. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I just hope the weather is nice. Currently it's a 30% chance of storms.

Week in Review

I thought this summer would be pretty laid back. Since my FIL is having both his knees done this summer, I figured we wouldn't be going anywhere and we'd just have a nice relaxing summer at home. Riiiight. So far June has been crazy!

Last weekend, I packed up the boys and headed to Wisconsin for my sister's bridal shower. It was very nice. No stupid games, just nice gifts and great food. Tate wasn't so impressed though.

My other sister was determined to fight him to sleep. She lost. It only took about 3 seconds in the van for him to give in, but he was determined no one was going to cuddle him to sleep!

Tuesday we threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my parents. Someone almost blew it by wishing my dad a happy birthday a little too early on in the party, but he didn't get it since his birthday was actually in April. We had a great time and Coley loved following around his older cousins.

Wednesday brought in Cole's 3rd birthday! After a quick breakfast and some time opening gifts with Grammy and cousins, we loaded back up in the van and headed home. The cake and gifts were a hit, as was the bike helmet I bought him a couple of days earlier.

Next up, Tate turned 11 months on Sunday. He's starting to nap better and sleep better at nights. He's had one tooth pop through and the other is getting closer. He's not big on showing them off though. He can wave bye bye and is getting closer and closer to moving. We'll see what PT brings tomorrow!
After PT tomorrow I am packing up the boys again, and this time heading to NE to visit a college friend and her new baby. I think it will be a fun trip. It's been a long time since I've been back to NE. We are making at stop in SD to pick up another friend and her little boy. It should be interesting traveling with so many little boys!

Happy Birthday Cole!

They say time flies when you are having fun, and it sure has flown the past 3 years. 3 years! Can you believe that my baby is 3? He sure has grown and he is a fun little kid.

Summer School

Today was Cole's first day of summer preschool. It went very well. I dropped him off, told him I was going to the bank, and that was that. No tears, no getting upset, just a simple "You go to the bank, I gotta stay here." I didn't cry either! He seemed to have a good time. I haven't had a chance to go through his backpack yet so I don't know what all they did today.
Our other big excitement for the day was our baby chickies! If they survive Cole's death grip, I'll be amazed, but so far so good! I think our farm is turning in to a petting zoo and I get stuck with the extra chores, but Cole's having fun and I guess that's what's important.
